Automated Speed Enforcement

Due to changed Ohio Law – We have not used electronic enforcement for almost 2 years

Franklin Township Police uses automated speed enforcement in our school zones.

Benefits:

  • Unbiased way to enforce speed limit – No officer contact
  • Civil Citation, similar to a parking citation (not criminal)
  • No Points on drivers license
  • Violator is not stopped along the roadway causing a hazard to Officer and Violator
  • Very effective because always monitored, resulting in slower speeds
  • More safety for the children, school buses and the parents coming and going when picking up/dropping off children
